Here, I share my deeply personal journey of growing up as a Jehovah’s Witness and the complex, challenging, yet liberating path of stepping away from the organisation that once defined my entire life.
Growing up in a highly structured environment taught me a lot about discipline, community, and the longing for personal freedom. Leaving, on the other hand, has been a journey of self-discovery, healing, and understanding the world from a perspective I was once taught to fear.
Expect honest reflections, discussions on the impact of religious upbringing on personal and psychological development, and insights into navigating life after leaving a high-control group. I also share tips for those who are on a similar path, looking for ways to rebuild their identity and sense of community in the wider world.
